A gentle Yoga practice that creates a nurturing and slow-paced haven where students can awaken their senses by tapping into their internal refuge; while discovering rest + renewal. Complimentary of a Yang Yoga practice, Yin Yoga’s fosters a disciplined and rejuvenating landscape through 3 main components. As students explore and hold each pose for a designated period of time through stillness, they will “find their appropriate edge/threshold and in turn allow their muscles to settle and be soft”. Yin Yoga targets deeper connective tissues or “fascia” (ligaments, bones, and joints); through deliberate and passive stretches and holds ranging from 1 minute up to 20 minutes (advanced practitioners). Blankets, Bolsters, Blocks and Straps will be introduced into the practice, to allow all practitioners access to the benefits of the postures, while offering support regardless of physical condition, age, or length of study.
